These Terms of Use govern your use of GlobalResonator.com, including its IngressFS event information, registration, RSVP, results, statistics and community resources.
Global Resonator is a free, community-operated service run by Jordon Mizzi, together with members of the IFS-UN community team.
Global Resonator is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with, operated by, or sponsored by Niantic or its affiliates.
By using Global Resonator or participating in IngressFS services provided through the website, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. The Global Resonator service
Global Resonator provides community information and services relating primarily to Ingress and IngressFS, including:
- event listings;
- event registration;
- RSVP and participation records;
- event results;
- leaderboards and statistics;
- event reports;
- guides and community resources; and
- historical records.
The service is provided free of charge and is not currently operated as a commercial service.
2. Ingress and Niantic
Ingress is a product and service of Niantic and/or its affiliates.
Global Resonator does not control:
- Ingress game rules;
- player eligibility;
- account status;
- game availability;
- game mechanics;
- Niantic’s services;
- Niantic’s privacy practices; or
- the awarding of any official Niantic reward or recognition.
Participation in an IngressFS event does not override or replace any applicable Niantic terms, rules, restrictions or requirements.
Where IngressFS badge credits are administered by Niantic, Global Resonator and IFS-UN may provide relevant participation information to Niantic for that purpose.
3. Event registration and participation
IngressFS events are community-organised events.
Event information may be submitted by event organisers and may subsequently be published on Global Resonator.
Global Resonator does not guarantee that event information supplied by organisers or other community members is complete, accurate or current.
Event organisers are responsible for ensuring that their events are conducted safely, lawfully and appropriately for their location and circumstances.
Global Resonator is not responsible for:
- the physical organisation of an event;
- travel to or from an event;
- the conduct of individual participants;
- venue requirements;
- local laws or regulations;
- injuries, losses or property damage arising from event participation; or
- changes made by event organisers.
Participants should verify important event details with the event organiser.
4. Public event and participation records
Global Resonator maintains a public and historical record of community participation in IngressFS and other Ingress events.
As part of that purpose, information including Agent names, RSVP information, participation records, event statistics, leaderboards, photographs and other event information may be published on Global Resonator.
By submitting information for an IngressFS event, you acknowledge that information provided for publication may become part of the public event record.
Global Resonator may retain historical event and participation information for an indefinite period.
Where appropriate and where required by applicable law, Global Resonator may remove, suppress or anonymise particular personal information without removing the underlying non-personal historical event record.
5. Information submitted by organisers and participants
You must not knowingly submit information that:
- you do not have permission to provide;
- infringes another person’s copyright, privacy or other rights;
- contains unnecessary sensitive personal information;
- contains passwords, payment information or other confidential credentials;
- is defamatory, threatening or unlawfully abusive; or
- is intended to compromise or damage Global Resonator or another person’s systems.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is reasonably accurate.
6. Photographs and other media
Event organisers may submit photographs or links to publicly available photographs and social-media posts.
By submitting material for publication, you confirm that you have the right or authority to submit that material for the purposes described by the IngressFS system.
You should not submit a photograph containing another person where publication would unlawfully infringe that person’s rights.
Global Resonator may remove photographs or other media following a credible privacy, copyright, safety or other legitimate complaint.
7. Copyright and intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, content created by Global Resonator, including original text, graphics, software and website design, remains the property of its respective creator.
Third-party names, trademarks, logos, game assets and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
Nothing on Global Resonator grants you ownership of third-party intellectual property.
Where you submit content to Global Resonator for publication, you grant Global Resonator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display, format and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate Global Resonator and maintain its historical archives.
You retain ownership of copyright in content that you submit unless you expressly transfer that ownership separately.
8. External services and links
Global Resonator contains links to third-party services, websites, spreadsheets, social-media platforms and other resources.
Global Resonator does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices.
Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms and policies.
9. Website availability
Global Resonator is provided on a best-efforts basis.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- hosting problems;
- software failures;
- third-party service outages;
- changes to Google Forms, Google Sheets or other services;
- security incidents; or
- circumstances outside Global Resonator’s reasonable control.
Global Resonator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
10. Accuracy of information
Community information may change rapidly.
Event organisers and participants are responsible for checking important information before relying on it.
Global Resonator does not guarantee that:
- event listings are complete;
- event information is current;
- event locations are correct;
- results contain no errors;
- submitted statistics are accurate;
- links will continue to work; or
- community information reflects current Ingress rules or mechanics.
Historical records may preserve information that was correct at the time it was published even if the information later changes.
11. Acceptable use
You must not use Global Resonator to:
- interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
- introduce malicious software;
- scrape or collect personal information for unrelated purposes;
- impersonate Global Resonator, IFS-UN, Niantic or another person;
- submit fraudulent event or participation information;
- abuse registration or scoring systems;
- deliberately disrupt event administration; or
- use the service for unlawful purposes.
Global Resonator may restrict or remove access to particular features where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users or the community.
12. Minors
Global Resonator does not currently operate an age-verification or public user-account system.
Under-18 participants may participate in community events subject to any requirements imposed by the event organiser, Niantic, the Ingress service or applicable law.
Global Resonator does not intentionally request unnecessary information about children.
13. Privacy
Use of Global Resonator is subject to the Global Resonator Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, published and disclosed.
By submitting information through Global Resonator’s IngressFS systems, you should review and understand that some information may be publicly displayed as part of the event and historical record.
14. Changes to the service and these Terms
Global Resonator may change, suspend, replace or discontinue parts of the service at any time.
These Terms may also be updated when the service, data practices or legal requirements change.
The current version will be published on GlobalResonator.com with its effective date.
15. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Global Resonator is provided without warranties or guarantees that the service will always be available, accurate, secure or suitable for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, Global Resonator and the people administering it are not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential or unforeseeable losses arising from use of the website or participation in community events.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or the use of Global Resonator is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia, to the extent permitted by law.
This does not prevent a person from exercising a mandatory right or remedy available to them under the laws of their own jurisdiction.
