If you contact Global Resonator, we may retain the information you provide, including your name, email address, message and any information necessary to respond to your enquiry or resolve the matter.
3. What do we use personal information for?
We use personal information for purposes connected with operating Global Resonator and administering IngressFS, including:

We do not use event registration or participant information for newsletters, unrelated marketing or commercial advertising.
4. Public IngressFS information
IngressFS is intended to provide a public record of community events and participation.
Information submitted as part of event registration, RSVP and participation may therefore be published publicly, including:

By participating in an IngressFS event, you should understand that information associated with that participation may become part of a public historical record.
Global Resonator will not intentionally publish private email addresses or other information that is collected solely for administration unless there is a separate reason to do so.
5. Legal bases where the GDPR applies
Where the GDPR applies to our processing, Global Resonator will process personal information only where an appropriate legal basis exists.
Depending on the circumstances, these may include:
Legitimate interests
Global Resonator has legitimate interests in:
- operating a free community service;
- administering community events;
- maintaining public event results and leaderboards;
- maintaining an accurate historical archive of IngressFS;
- preventing abuse and maintaining website security; and
- communicating with event organisers and participants where reasonably expected.
When relying on legitimate interests, we will consider the impact of the processing on the individual’s privacy rights and will not rely on legitimate interests where those interests are overridden by the individual’s rights and freedoms.
Consent
Where consent is the appropriate legal basis, we will request consent in a clear and specific manner and provide an appropriate method of withdrawing it.
Consent may be relevant to optional processing such as particular uses of photographs or website analytics where consent is required by applicable law.
Compliance with legal obligations
Personal information may be processed where necessary to comply with an applicable legal obligation.
Other lawful bases
Where appropriate, processing may rely on another lawful basis recognised under applicable law.
6. Sharing information with third parties
Global Resonator uses third-party services to operate the website and IngressFS.
These may include:
Global Resonator uses Google services including:
- Google Workspace;
- Google Forms;
- Google Sheets;
- Gmail;
- Google Analytics through the Site Kit by Google WordPress plugin;
- Google Search Console;
- Google PageSpeed Insights; and
- Google authentication for authorised administrators.
Event and participant information may therefore be stored or processed using Google services.
xHost Solutions Pty Ltd
Global Resonator’s WordPress website is hosted by xHost Solutions Pty Ltd. Website and technical information may therefore be processed by the hosting provider as necessary to operate the website.
Slack
Participant information may be shared through the IFS-UN Slack workspace with Niantic for the purpose of administering IngressFS.
Slack is used as a communication and data-transfer service. Information transmitted through Slack is subject to Slack’s own terms and privacy practices.
Niantic Spatial
Relevant IngressFS participation information may be provided to Niantic Spatial for the purpose of validating participation and assigning IngressFS badge credits.
This may include:
- Ingress Agent name; and
- the IngressFS event or month in which the Agent participated.
Niantic is an independent organisation and is responsible for its own processing of information once it receives that information.
Public third-party content
Global Resonator may link to or display content hosted on third-party services, including social-media platforms and publicly accessible Google documents or spreadsheets.
When you choose to publish content on another platform, that platform’s privacy policy and terms apply to its processing of your information.
7. International processing and transfers
Global Resonator is operated in Australia, but its users and event participants are located internationally.
Our service providers, including Google and Slack, may process information outside Australia and outside the European Economic Area.
Where a law such as the GDPR applies, Global Resonator will take appropriate steps required by that law for relevant international transfers, including relying on an applicable adequacy decision, contractual safeguards or another permitted transfer mechanism where required.
8. How long do we keep information?
IngressFS has operated since 2014 and Global Resonator is intended to preserve a long-term historical record of IngressFS events.
We generally retain historical event information and published participation records for an indefinite period because they form part of that historical archive.
Operational information such as contact details may also be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to administer events, resolve issues and maintain the associated historical records.
We may retain information for longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, comply with legal obligations, investigate abuse or security incidents, or maintain the integrity of historical records.
Where a person has a legal right to request deletion or restriction of their information, Global Resonator will assess the request and may delete, suppress or anonymise information where required or appropriate.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Security measures may include:
- restricted access to administrative systems;
- account authentication;
- limiting access to event information according to a person’s role;
- use of established third-party service providers;
- maintaining software and security updates; and
- limiting access to personal information to people who require it for their role.
No internet service or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Photographs and minors
IngressFS events may include people under the age of 18.
Global Resonator does not require participants to provide their age and does not currently operate an age-verification system.
Event organisers are responsible for ensuring that submitted photographs and other materials are appropriate for publication and that they have obtained any permissions required by applicable law.
Global Resonator does not intentionally request sensitive personal information about children.
Please do not submit information about children that is not necessary for administering or documenting an event.
If you have concerns about the publication of an image or other information involving a minor, contact privacy@globalresonator.com.
11. Your rights
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights including:
- the right to know how your information is being used;
- the right to request access to personal information we hold about you;
- the right to request correction of inaccurate information;
- the right to request deletion of personal information;
- the right to request restriction of processing;
- the right to object to certain processing;
- the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- in some circumstances, the right to receive or transfer personal information in a portable format.
These rights are subject to applicable legal exceptions and limitations.
Because IngressFS is intended to preserve a historical public record, deletion of an entire historical event or results record may not always be appropriate or legally required. In some circumstances, we may instead remove particular information, suppress its public display or anonymise it.
12. Requesting access, correction or removal
Privacy requests can be sent to:
Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant record and understand your request.
We may ask for reasonable information to verify the identity of the person making a request.
We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days. Where the GDPR applies, we will comply with any applicable statutory response period, including the one-month period required in ordinary circumstances.
13. Complaints
If you believe Global Resonator has mishandled your personal information, please contact:
We will review the complaint and respond appropriately.
Where the Australian Privacy Act applies to the relevant processing and you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Where the GDPR applies, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in the country in which you live, work or where you believe an infringement occurred.
14. Cookies and analytics
Global Resonator uses Google Analytics through the Site Kit by Google WordPress plugin to understand website usage and performance.
Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about how visitors use the site.
Global Resonator does not currently use analytics information for advertising or direct marketing.
The configuration of Google Analytics and consent controls may change over time. Where consent is required by applicable law, analytics processing will be subject to an appropriate consent mechanism.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information such as:
- passwords;
- payment card details;
- government identification numbers;
- health information;
- information about a person’s medical conditions; or
- other highly sensitive information that is unrelated to IngressFS.
If such information is submitted unintentionally, Global Resonator may remove it where appropriate.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Global Resonator’s services, data practices or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published on this website with its effective date.
